St. Petersburg Hosts Meeting of Deputy Prosecutors General of CIS Member States Represented in the CCPG

By decision of Russian Prosecutor General Aleksandr Gutsan, who serves as Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member States (CCPG), a meeting of Deputy Prosecutors General from the CIS countries represented in the CCPG was held.

The event took place in St. Petersburg under the chairmanship of Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Petr Gorodov, with the participation of CCPG Executive Secretary Yury Zhdanov and delegations from the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The meeting addressed topical issues of international cooperation among supervisory agencies, including the fight against cross-border crime.

Participants underscored the importance of prompt information exchange, the need to establish sustainable professional contacts and coordinate law enforcement efforts to respond to criminal proceeds moving rapidly across jurisdictions, including through digital payment instruments, cryptocurrencies and complex asset concealment schemes.

The parties reaffirmed the value of this format, which allows for joint practical solutions to contemporary challenges.

The 36th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member States and the 24th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Member States are scheduled to take place in Kazan this September.
